Dukkah is a traditional Egyption condiment made up of nuts, seeds, spices and dried herbs. There are many combinations, some very simple and some with more complex flavours. This is our family’s favourite recipe. Not only does it taste amazing added to salads, dips, toast with avocado or with olive oil and bread, it is very nourishing. The turmeric and pepper are anti-inflammatory and the remaining ingredients are all healthy whole foods.
Our Favourite Dukkah
We always have dukkah on hand. It is a great way to add flavour to many things including eggs, salads, avocado and tomato on toast/rice cakes or dips. You can also eat dukkah the traditional way - dip a little bread in a good olive oil and then dip in the dukkah before eating.

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
- Roast almonds and cashews for 11 minutes.
- Once the nuts are cool, process them with remaining ingredients in a blender. The mix should still have some texture so do not process for too long. The pulse option is usually the best.
- Store in a jar in a cool, dark place.
