After you have a treatment, the instructions have been given to your body to let go of various heavy metals, chemicals and harmful pathogens. The 3 main organs/systems that support this are your liver, kidneys and lymphatic system. Special drainage remedies have been added to your drops to support the process, however there are things you can do to help the process happen faster and to stay more comfortable.
First 3 Days
It is essential during this time to drink plenty of water. Heavy metals and harmful chemicals are processed via the liver and excreted through the kidneys. This means that you need to flush consistently. In order to do this, drink enough filtered water to urinate every hour. Then have a drink right before going to bed so that you may get up during the night to visit the toilet.
The liver
If you like animation, this is a great video to watch. It only goes for a few minutes and will give you an idea as to why it is so important to support your liver in daily life and especially during the detoxification process.
The liver is one of the busiest organs in the body. It receives blood from both the heart and the intestines. It’s main functions include:
- Storage of glycogen (glucose) for energy, fat soluble vitamins and other nutrients.
- Manufacturing of blood plasma proteins and cholesterol.
- Creation of vitamin D, hormones and bile for fat digestion.
- Elimination of toxins (which are then sent to the kidneys and intestines ).
How to help your liver
- Avoid alcohol, especially during the first three days.
- Avoid white sugar and trans fats which burden the liver.
- Avoid fruit juice. The liver doesn’t know what to do with concentrated fructose.
- Exercise (keep it gentle in the first few days).
- Keep up the filtered water.
- Eat plenty of plants, mostly cooked if you have digestive problems.
- Avoid processed foods.
How to help your lymphatic system
The lymphatic system runs alongside the cardiovascular system. However unlike the latter, it has no heart to keep it moving. The only pump available to our lymphatic system is our muscles. Therefore, movement is key to keeping it all flowing. Lymph carries waste to the heart which then sends it to the liver for processing. The best way to enable this process is regular exercise. Choose the type that you feel supports your healing and suits your constitution.
Extra things you can do
- Get out into nature: fresh air is cleansing.
- Visit a sauna or steam room: great for detoxification.
- Visit a beach: negative ions in natural environments increase our seratonin production, making us feel good.
- Meditate or take part in a relaxing hobby: anything to relieve stress frees up more energy for our body to use for healing.
- Get adequate or abundant rest and sleep. We heal when we sleep. It is the best medicine. Check out this article for more information https://themodelhealthshow.com/sleep-problems-tips/
What if I get sick?
Natural symptoms of detoxification are listed below. You may experience one or more of these or you may not feel anything. This depends not only on what you do after the treatment but also how well your body detoxifies. There are genetic variations that make some people breeze through the process and others struggle.
- Headaches.
- Tiredness and lethargy.
- Some bloating and loose stools.
- Cold and flu-like symptoms.
